Chase your obsession

Don’t chase the crowd.

Don’t chase money.

Don’t chase status.

Chase obsession.

Here’s why:

Tim Denning might encourage you to chase obsession, but he forgets to tell you why.

It’s about the process.

Chasing the crowd, money, or status means you’re chasing the result.

To be happy, the only way is to reach the destination.

Because Result = Reward.

When the result is a reward,

  • The adventure becomes torture
  • The discovery part becomes agony
  • The learning process becomes a burden

That’s the reason why most people don’t get anything except pain when they follow shallow things like status, money, or the crowd.

But when you chase your obsession,

the process = Reward.

How can the process be a reward?

It’s all about dopamine.

To put it simply: when you get a reward in life, your brain releases this hormone.

And this hormone makes you happy.

TikTok can give you instant dopamine, but it’s unhealthy.

Follow your obsession instead.

When you do what hooks you, your brain releases dopamine too.

Then, working will feel like playing.

You level up, go to the next stage, and your skills compound.

As a byproduct, you get what other people dream of.

If you chase the result, you lose.

Because when you don’t get the result you want, you quit.

It’s better to chase obsessions because you win simply by chasing.

But if you don’t know what your obsession is, just explore more.

Your life is too short to chase what the system wants.

Give yourself a chance to do what you’re born to do.
