I think what Medium is doing now is counterintuitive. Every platform has changed from Long -> Short, but Medium is changing from short -> Long.

Perhaps most subscribers are Gen X or Baby Boomers who have a greater attention span than Gen Z or Millennials. That's why they prefer lengthy posts
