I agree with everything you said.
I love Medium because of this.
But I'm a bit concerned about the business model.
Normally, content creators want an incentive to create high-quality content, but when the incentive is only a prize pool that is randomly distributed, I think it will create a "Death spiral," which means:
1.) Big-league writers don't get earnings equal to their effort.
2.) They leave the platform.
3.) Readers leave because the quality of content drops.
4.) Revenue drops.
5.) The size of the prize pool shrinks.
But it's just a comment from a small guy with a cat profile in the internet world. Hahaha.
