“I’ve never met a people pleaser who is genuinely happy.” — Amy Morin

I used to think people-pleasing was a sign of generosity.

That was a big misunderstanding.

Actually, people-pleasing is a sign of a lack of self-esteem.

A lack of self-esteem shows insecurity.

Insecurity leads to ineffective decision-making.

Ineffective decision-making makes you a low performer.

People-pleasing is never good for you.

It drains your energy when you try to please what others want.

It makes you freeze when you have to make decisions.

It keeps you from reaching your full potential.

That can cause resentment.

But it’s the worst when you face a control freak.

A control freak will treat a people-pleaser like a dog.

“Go get the ball.”

“Give me your hand.”

If you don’t do it, they’ll scold you.
