Quantity Leads to Quality

This is what new-school writers do.

Only two types of people believe in “quality first, quantity later” when it comes to writing:

  1. People who never write.
  2. People who screw up at writing.

In writing, quantity leads to quality.

Back in the old-school publishing days, writers wrote a lot and threw those damn rejected drafts into the trash.

That’s why you never saw them.

Once you saw only the cherries on top of the sundae that got published.

That’s why some people fool themselves into thinking quality is better than quantity.

Because they only see the top cherries on the bookshelves.

Wake up! This is 2024.

Let’s let quantity lead to quality.

Here is how:

Old-school writers wrote the whole book, went to the publisher, and made a big bet on whether their ideas would do or die.

New-school writers turn blog posts into books.

Less risk, more return.

This is Mark Manson.

You might not know him, but his book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fck*, sold 20 million copies.
