Library is my palace.

I remember when I was young, I hated reading teen fiction.

I grew up with Japanese manga.

Because most of them tell stories in a straight line.

This is one of my favorite mangas.

It’s Dragonball.

Akira Toriyama is the writer of a 260-million-copy-sold manga.

I won’t tell you what it’s all about.

Because here’s the real deal:

  • Akira Toriyama never begged me to read.
  • He never scolded me if I didn’t reply to a comment.

So why did I keep reading his 42-volume manga straight?

It’s simple.

His manga entertained me.

That’s one form of value.

Readers don’t read because you force them to.

They’re willing to read if your work is great enough.

I know.

Entertainment is the hardest but most underrated genre of writing.
